Created as the heart of the city, the architectural fortunes of Sector 17 have waxed and waned over the years. It took decades for the complete corpus or commercial structures to be fully built up and inhabited.

With the growth of neighbouring cities and the rise of mall culture for shopping, the city centre has seen dramatic changes. But some new alterations have again brought life to the plaza.

It is best visited in the evening, when most people come to shop and eat here.
