Standing as a living testament to modernist architecture, Chandigarh embodies a timeless dialogue between form, function, and ideology. A deep appreciation for the city’s contemporary architectural heritage also revealed the need to look beyond facades to read its streets, structures & spatial narrative as language of ideas. Thus, the idea of well-curated, architecture-centric tours across The City Beautiful was born.

Led by an architect, these walks uncover the often-overlooked layers of Chandigarh’s built environment. Each walk rather provides a deeper & intimate understanding of a building’s design intent, materiality, and context, inviting reflection on a city imagined as both experiment & experience.

ARCHITECTURE WALKS

Amidst the vast expanse of the Capitol Complex, bold forms and bare concrete echo the ambition of a newly independent nation defining its identity. From the monumental scale to the quiet precision of its geometry, this UNESCO World Heritage site reflects Le Corbusier’s vision of governance shaped through space, order, and architectural clarity.

 Exploring the architectural legacy of Pierre Jeanneret and Jane Drew, the walk navigates Sector 5’s thoughtfully designed residences and urban plan before reaching Sukhna Lake—where architecture, landscape, and leisure harmonize, embodying Chandigarh’s visionary modernist approach to integrated design and spatial experience.

This walk uncovers the subtle dialogue between form and function in its iconic buildings, culminating in the lively Student Centre—an enduring social heart that reflects the campus’s vibrant spirit and architectural legacy.
